Dr. Mayank Parikh immigrated to USA in 1987 after completing medical school in his native India. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiology Fellowship at Wayne State University affiliated hospitals in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Parikh is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Nuclear Cardiology, and has been a practicing cardiologist since 1995.
After relocating to Texas in 2001, Dr. Parikh started his own private practice – Fort Bend Cardiology-in Richmond, Texas. His office is located in the professional building next to Oak Bend Medical Center. He has been passionately serving Richmond-Rosenberg as well as surrounding communities since 2001. He provides consultative cardiology services at Oak Bend Medical Center, and has privileges at Methodist Sugar Land Hospital, Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital and Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital.
Dr. Parikh’s mission is to provide state-of-the-art Cardiology Services in the most compassionate manner to his patients. He has a unique ability to connect with his patients, and explain their health problems and treatment options in a very easy to understand manner. For this very reason, his biggest referral source has been his patients and their families.
While providing the latest treatment options for a wide range of cardiac disorders, Dr. Parikh strongly believes in Preventive Cardiology and early detection of heart problems. Accordingly, he provides aggressive management options for cholesterol disorders and hypertension in order to prevent future cardiovascular ailments. Dr. Parikh has held various medical staff leadership positions at Oak Bend Medical Center. In addition, he was awarded Physician of the Year (2011) by the entire staff at Oak Bend Medical Center. Dr. Parikh lives with his wife and two children in the community.
